Meet Michael Spradlin, YA Wonder

As a mom of boys, I deplore the lack of good fiction written for boys.  My son loves to read, but the bulk of fiction out there is aimed square at girls and like most boys he has his own ideas about what makes a good book.  So when I found out my good friend, Michael Spradlin was writing a book about a young Templar knight, I was thrilled.  So I asked Michael to drop by and tell all of you about his new book/series, The Youngest Templar.

1) Michael, how exciting to see The Youngest Templar, the Read more »

My Conference Excess is Your Gain

(Please note that this contest ended on August 25th.  But please visit my contest page to win other fun prizes!)

When you go to the RWA conference there is a ton of free stuff to pick up. Everywhere. Books, bookmarks, pens, pencils, publisher’s tchotchkes, and more books. This year I exercised due restraint, mostly because I knew the DH would be around when I was packing up and I’d have to hear the complaints of “why are you bringing that stuff home?” Okay, he’d probably call it all junk, but he’s a man and just doesn’t get it.

But quite … Read more »

I Wasn't the Only One

I’ve found myself having a hard time coming down from the conference this week. I just didn’t want the fun and energy to stop. To prolong the love, I’ve been reading everyone else’s posts about the SF RWA conference and thought I’d share them, along with extending my own posts about the conference:

My First Time – Oh, get your mind out the gutter, it wasn’t that first time. But it seemed to be a lot of folks first time at conference, including Abi at Waxcreative, Ciara Stewart (who, BTW, for someone who went for the first time and claims … Read more »

Linkage, Reminders and a Contest

I’m a little rushed this week as I get ready to go to the Romance Writers of America conference in San Francisco, so here are some quick links for all of you that I thought I would share.

If you are going to the conference, then check out these:

1) Map of the area. Niki Burnham sent me this link and it is fabulous. Click to go to the Union Square neighborhood, and then click on the link that says “Map”. You’ll get a pdf file of the neighborhood, the sort of detailed map that tells you all the … Read more »

Since the Excerpt for Tempted by the Night is Up

I thought I’d tease you further with an edited letter from Valarie, a reviewer who was lucky enough to get to read an early edition of the book. Her email is edited because she shares a HUGE spoiler in it and I know that none of you would want to have the book spoiled by seeing too much. So here is what Valarie wrote:

Hi Elizabeth,

WOW! Loved it, Loved it, Loved it, and let me just say again, LOVED IT!!!!!!!!

You’re right, I never expected THAT. I loved both Rockhurst and Hermione, but I never would have guessed what

Psst. The Excerpt is Up. Tell Everyone.

Totally Fun for Monday

Part of this business of writing is promotion. Finding the right promo piece that will be different and yet far reaching. Something that isn’t going to take a pipeline of oil to finance, and in the bargain, will be easy to share with as many people as possible. Just call me brilliant because I think I may have put it together with the always talented help of Emily Cotler of Waxcreative and a few friends who wanted to test the waters of my grand experiment.

So I was surfing blogdom the other day (yes, when I should have been writing, … Read more »

Psst . . . Do you like to win things?

Hey all, just to let you know, Samantha James is having a big, I mean, huge contest extravaganza to celebrate the release of her new book, The Seduction of an Unknown Lady. Get thyself over there and enter. She’s giving away tons of books, coverflats and some really cool grand prizes nearly every day. Just thought you might like to know, because she’s got some of my coverflats in there and a hardback of one of my books. You’ll have to enter to find out which one.

Oh, and her book comes out today–so make sure you go get … Read more »

Chat with Me — Tuesday Nite

I’ll be filling my chair here, and settling in this Tuesday night (11/6) at 9 pm Eastern time to chat live with anyone who wants to drop by Coffee Time Romance with questions, comments, or if you just want to eavesdrop, that’s allowed as well. I’ll be joined by my fellow Avon author, and recent Speed Dating Librarian wingman, Jenna Petersen. I’ll be dishing dirt on my two series, hinting about Hermione’s book and generally causing rowdiness. As much as you can with a latte in one hand and trying to type intelligently with the other. Drop by!… Read more »
